Volunteering Opportunities

We always need stewards and helpers, the more the merrier.  Under normal circumstances the Centre is open every morning from 10a.m. until 1p.m and we like to have two Stewards on duty.

Helping as a steward can be as simple as unlocking and turning the lights on, and welcoming visitors who look round by themselves.  Knowing where to direct people in their research is useful, but soon learnt. Some stewards enjoy preparing exhibitions, doing research on a subject or physically cutting and sticking pictures on displays.

The filing new material, indexing and sorting the artefact cupboards are on-going jobs. Computer skills can be useful and using the photocopier is a skill soon learnt, with plenty of opportunities to practise!

CONTACT US using the form on the contact page or ring when the shop is open.
